Snaking the cable through the tiny opening at the top of the backrest was one of the two more difficult parts of the job. The second picture shows the routing of the long cable following the vacuum lines and existing cable along the wheel well in the passenger compartment. I installed the long cable that connects the D2B interface unit with the IceLink board from inside the passenger compartment. Making the fiber optic connections and electrical connections was straightforward, but could have been more simply designed for plug & play by Dension for the price they charged ($400, "on special"). The first picture below shows the electronics bay on the left side of my trunk I installed the D2B interface next to the Voice Control Module after shortening a bolt that was there. The space for the cell phone in the console top reduces clearance. One has to be careful of clearance, however, so there is room to close the console. I chose to mount the iPod in the console because I wanted it out of sight. The hard part was snaking the long cable that runs between the D2B interface unit in the trunk and the IceLink board itself, which I installed in the panel at the back of the center console.
